About Me

Hello! I'm Mel. Wife & Mum to two boys, living in country NSW.

My journey so far - I grew up in the Blue Mountains of NSW, madly in love with horses (I started riding at the age of seven) and everything country. I left home at the ripe old age of 24, moving 1500kms away to a remote town in SA. I returned to Sydney four years later after a heartbreaking end to a relationship and found myself living with my mum who had just sold our family home after separating from my father. I started commuting to work from Western Sydney to North Sydney for my admin job and a few months later moved into an apartment in Pyrmont. While living and working in the city was interesting and exciting, my heart still belonged to the wide open spaces.

Being 28 and single wasn't really fun for me. All of my friends at the time were married and starting families and I was still looking for 'the one'. I'm not a drinker (I've actually never been drunk) so hanging out a pubs and clubs was not my thing.

I met Ben on the new age internet - yep, those stories are real! We spent lots of time emailing and chatting on the phone before meeting up and six months into our relationship we were engaged. I packed up my belongings and happily said goodbye to the big smoke and made my home with my new love back in the country where I belonged. A year later we were married and six months after that our first born William arrived.

Being a mum didn't come as naturally to me as I'd hoped. Living on a farm isolated from town, not knowing anyone and having my family and closest friend 6 hours drive away made life a little tough at times. I am eternally grateful that Ben is such a hands on Dad and helped out as much as he could all while being a shift worker on a crazy, tiring schedule.

Eighteen months later our second boy Angus arrived and if I thought having a toddler was hard, a toddler and a newborn together was chaos!! Looking back I sometimes wonder how we made it through those first few years of parenthood.

Ben's work schedule and my busy life as a stay at home mum saw us leave the farm a few years later and settle on a little house in town.
I love our home - I'm constantly rearranging things and adding to it. Interior Design, Organising and Planning are a few of my favourite things. I love made beds, white walls, budget home décor, weekends with friends and I also have a passion for healthy living.

While there have been many ups & downs through the years of marriage and child wrangling, I feel that my journey has really only just begun. I  believe that there is a way to a better life of more time freedom and wealth. I don't want to spend the next 30 years of our lives working the 9-5 grind and I know there are thousands of others out there who are looking for a better way too.

My goal is to not only improve the life of my family but to change the lives of others around me through health & wellness.

I'm here to share the rest of my journey with you.
